Beading Basics: Seed Beads

One common question I get is what to do with those tiny, pesky seed beads, you know, the ones you can barely see?

As for using seed beads in kits, you can use them several ways. One is to use them to separate larger beads - alternating smaller with larger makes a nice visual rhythm. Also this helps to separate beads that might wear by rubbing on each other - as pearls and metal. You can also use seed beads to create separate strands to make an easy multi-strand necklace. You can also string them and weave them in various ways in and out of the larger beads - as in making dangles or swags. Or you can use a bead weaving stitch, such as peyote or brick stitch, to make the backbone of the piece to embellish with larger beads.
