Sample of Angel earrings made with 15mm angel wings, 6x13mm angel bodies, 4mm crystal bicones and 6mm SP halo beads. Angel Mini Kits contain beads and findings to make 2 earrings and one pendant (chain not included). Findings may vary slightly from those shown. |
|
These instructions show how to make angel earrings and pendants using the Mini Angel Kits. |
|
For each earring and pendant set, you need the following (included in the mini angel kits):
3-6mm GP or SP Halo Beads
3-4mm Round or Crystal Head Beads
3-15mm Wing Beads
3-6x13mm Teardrop Body Beads
Matching Seed Beads
3-3" GP or SP Headpins
2 GP or SP French Earring Wires
1 GP or SP Pendant Bail
You also need some wire cutters and round nose pliers (not included in the kits).
Step by Step Instructions:
Straighten out the head pins if needed
String the following beads in this order on a head pin: 1 seed, 1 body bead, 1 seed, 1 wing bead, 1 seed, 1 head bead and 1 halo bead.
Leave approximately 3/8" of the headpin wire above the halo and cut the headpin with the wire cutters.
Using the round nose pliers, bend the wire above the halo 90° away from you, and then curve it towards you to make a circle. Attach this to the French wire for an earring or the pendant bail for a pendant, and close the circle.
Repeat these steps for the other earring and the pendant. Add a chain to the pendant or incorporate it in a beaded design.
Optional: You can string the angels on wire or thread if desired and incorporate this in a beaded design. You can also fashion a "skirt" for the angel out of small, long bead caps. For more ideas and color combinations, see my Angelic Jewelry Pages.
If you have never made headpin loops before, you might want to practice on wire beforehand. And if you are having trouble making the headpin loops, more instructions can be found here:
